Why GTA 6 RP is a matter of when, not if
Roleplay turned GTA V into a ten-year game. Servers like NoPixel made Twitch careers, filled 300-slot cities night after night and kept a 2013 title in the top charts through 2026. Rockstar noticed. In August 2023 they acquired Cfx.re, the team behind FiveM, the platform almost every GTA V RP server runs on. You do not buy the roleplay platform unless roleplay is part of the next game's plan.
GTA 6 itself is confirmed for consoles on November 19, 2026: Vice City, the state of Leonida, and two playable protagonists, Jason and Lucia. What is not in the box at launch: a PC version, mod support, or any RP platform. Rockstar has shipped PC versions one to two years after console for every mainline GTA. RP needs PC. So the earliest realistic window for GTA 6 roleplay is 2027.
When it opens, the land grab will be violent. Every large GTA V community, every RP framework team and thousands of streamers are planning their move. The first serious GTA 6 RP servers will have queues in the tens of thousands. Knowing the moment they go live is an actual advantage.

Rockstar acquires the FiveM team
Rockstar Games brought Cfx.re, the team behind FiveM and RedM, in-house. The people who built GTA V roleplay now work for the company shipping GTA 6. That is the single strongest signal that official RP support is part of the plan.
December 2023
Trailer 1 breaks the internet
The first GTA 6 trailer confirmed Vice City and the state of Leonida, Jason and Lucia as dual protagonists, and a 2025 window that later moved.
November 19, 2026
GTA 6 launches on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S
Console first, as always with Rockstar. No mod support, no RP at launch. This is the single-player and GTA Online era beginning.

PC release and the first RP platforms
GTA V went console-first in September 2013 and hit PC in April 2015; FiveM followed shortly after. If Rockstar repeats the pattern with a faster modding pipeline already in-house, the first GTA 6 RP servers land in 2027. That is the moment this waitlist exists for.

+−Will GTA 6 have RP servers?
Nothing is officially announced, but all signals point to yes. Rockstar owns the FiveM team, GTA V roleplay is one of the biggest categories on Twitch, and Take-Two has watched FiveM grow the game's lifespan for a decade. The open questions are timing and how official the platform will be, not whether RP happens.

Realistically 2027 at the earliest. The console launch is November 19, 2026. RP needs the PC version plus a modding or server platform, and both are expected to follow the console release rather than ship with it.
+−Will FiveM work with GTA 6?
FiveM itself is built for GTA V and will keep running after GTA 6 launches. A GTA 6 equivalent would be a new platform. Since the Cfx.re team now works inside Rockstar, whatever ships for GTA 6 is likely to be more official than FiveM ever was.
+−What happens to GTA 5 RP when GTA 6 launches?
GTA V RP does not disappear on launch day. Big communities like NoPixel have years of custom content and player investment, and consoles cannot run RP anyway. Expect a long overlap where GTA V RP stays the only option, then a gradual migration once GTA 6 RP platforms mature.

The first wave of servers will be flooded. Communities will reuse the whitelist playbook from GTA V: applications, Discord vetting and priority for known names. Practicing on serious GTA V RP servers now and keeping a clean reputation is the most realistic head start you can get.
