Using a vehicle as a weapon in an attempt to injure or kill another player with no, or minimal, roleplay, initiation or reason. Gunplay over Roleplay: To resort to shooting / killing with little roleplay reason, rather than attempting to create or continue a meaningful interaction.

What is Gunplay

  • If the situation can be resolved without using guns do so.

  • Example: Shooting someone down because they bumped your car.

So my personal understanding of this rule aligns pretty well with the exact verbiage, I read it to say that in your RP interactions throughout the city anytime you run into a decision you should look at your options and try and resolve it without resorting to gunplay if at all reasonably possible(reasonably possible meaning do not FailRP).

Following through on this understanding there are many situations where you have no other decision than to take out and possibly use a gun, lets say you’re suddenly embroiled in a drug deal gone wrong and there is a hostile standoff between your family or gang and another group.

In this situation you are clearly at odds and I think we can all agree if a firefight broke out the decision to fire you gun would have merit.

If that all is taken as true then I don’t see how it could make sense if everyone involved on one side would be banned if the first person to fire’s decision violated the server rules?

After the first person initiated the interaction it would follow that remaining in character demands gunplay in my opinion.

So my overarching question would be, “Does it make sense to punish/ban someone for Gunplay over Roleplay if they’re reacting in response to someone else’s decision in good faith/in character?”
