FlashBack FA is the open-access branch of the French Flashback project, and the name is literal: FA stands for Free Access. Where the parent Flashback is whitelisted and was famously selective (Breakflip's February 2021 coverage of its application mentions 400 hours of GTA RP experience and a minimum age of 20), FA asks nothing of you before you connect. Its rulebook says that connecting is itself your acknowledgement of the rules, which means the entry gate and the rule acceptance are the same act. There is no form, no interview, no waiting on a ticket. The Discord listing describes a server open to everyone, and that is exactly what it is. It runs 2,048 slots and fills a serious chunk of them at French prime time. If you want to see a large French city tonight without auditioning for it, this is about the shortest route in French RP.
/ What it actually is
Flashback began as a whitelisted server built around streamer JL Tomy, with Loly and a launch team that Breakflip named in February 2021. FA is the branch that lets people play in that world instead of watching it on stream. One point on credit: the better French coverage attributes the Flashback project to JL Tomy and LolyPokicake. A couple of SEO pages name a different founder for FA specifically, but they carry AI-generated hallmarks and nothing corroborates them, so we are leaving that question open rather than picking a name. The server also runs its own Twitch channel alongside JL Tomy's.
/ Getting in
Open. No whitelist, no application, no interview. The rulebook treats connecting as your agreement to the rules, and the Discord listing calls it a server open to everyone. Staff are described as available around the clock, though that is the server's own claim rather than something we could measure. What you get instead of vetting is a detailed public rulebook hosted on Google Sites, covering PowerGaming, Metagaming, Freekill, NoFear and Mass RP. Read it before you connect. On a server with no gate, nobody is going to walk you through the rules first, and the learning happens live.
/ The dossier ladder
Free entry does not mean everything is free, and this is the part that catches people out. Once you are inside there is a real application layer. Creating an organisation and becoming official requires you to be 18. Opening or taking over a business requires 18 plus 100 hours of RP on the server and good availability. Character death (Mort RP) needs a dossier too. All of them go through a ticket to moderation as a Google Doc or Google Slides, and the rulebook is explicit that no other format or link is accepted. Walk in free, then earn the structures.
/ How busy it really is
The tracker numbers are the honest ones. GTA BOOM logged a 1,107 peak and roughly 473 average on the day we checked, against 2,048 slots, with 7-day growth at -9.1%. Streameurs recorded a 1,629 peak on 2 July. Live snapshots swing hard: we saw 134 connected at one moment and 427 at another, so an off-peak visit will feel like a different server than a Saturday evening. The Discord is genuinely enormous and we verified it live: 107,419 members, 8,835 online, 126 boosts at Level 3. Several third-party pages still quote 26,000 or 63,000. Those are stale.
/ What we could not verify
Four gaps, stated plainly. The framework is not publicly identifiable: the 451-resource list shows ox_lib and ox_target, shared libraries that ESX, QBCore and Qbox all use, and no es_extended or qb-core appears anywhere, so we will not guess. There is no reliable public launch date for the game server, and a Discord guild timestamp is not a founding date, so we are not printing one. The marketing stat block (1,500 constant players, 14 gangs, 35 businesses, 50 staff) travels with that outdated Discord count, so treat it as old. A shop exists at boutique.flashbackfa.fr; Cloudflare blocked inspection, so we cannot tell you what it sells.

The verdict
Go here if you want a big, busy French city tonight without filling in an application. It is one of the largest French-language servers running, and the Discord backs that up. Skip it if you want vetted, small-scale, high-consequence RP. There is no gate, which also means the person next to you did not pass one.
